Description
Niloak pottery was produced in Benton, Arkansas. Niloak was founded in 1909 and produced art pottery until 1946. The most sought-after product line produced by Niloak Pottery is mission swirl. Niloak mission swirl was produced between 1909 and 1942.*This is a beautiful unmarked missionware swirl Toothpick Holder or vase by Niloak. This cute piece is 3" tall; Circumference around the base is 7" and narrows to 5 1/2". The opening is 1 1/2" It is made with swirled earth tones and blue with a matte finish and has a glazed interior. It is unmarked on the bottom. However, the sticker on the bottom may be covering the mark. (" Biggs Art Store")
First Art Mark: Impressed die stamp (art letters) used from September 1910 to 1924. . Further break down of dates can be determined by the examination of the swirl's colors and the shapes used.
Second Art Mark: Impressed die stamp (art letters) used from 1925 to the end of all Missionware productions.
