NILOAK Pale Blue Winged Victory Vase 1940's

Description

Here is a beautiful piece of Niloak pottery. To be nearing 80 years old, she looks great.  This vase is glazed in a pale blue, with some areas, especially on the inside, paler than others.  The piece measures app. 7" tall, 4 3/4" across the top, 3 3/8" across the base, and 5 1/2" across the widest points of the wings. As shown in the last photo, it carries the NILOAK mark framed by bars and dots.  This mark was used during the years of the 2nd World War, and is sometimes called Niloak for Victory. The piece is in great shape with no cracks or crazing.  It has 1 barely visible fleabite on the rim just above the point of attachment of one of the wings, and a small rust stain way down in the inside.  A beautiful addition to any collection.
