For your consideration is this vintage open sugar bowl made by the Niloak pottery company of Arkansas.
It is free of chips or cracks. There is a glaze miss on the rim and a smaller one on a handle. This piece is unmarked.
It can be seen on page 202 of David Edwin Gifford's Collector's Encyclopedia of Niloak, 2nd edition.
The glaze is known as Ozark Dawn II and was developed by George S. Lewis. The shape was designed by George M Peterson.
The Gifford book mentions that Niloak advertised primarily open sugar bowls and is is rare to find one with a lid. I imagine this is one of their common bowls.
    Thank you for looking.
